This is a rare uncut sheet from a 1983 collector issue of the O’Connell & Son Ink Baseball Greats series of (20) 4-by-6 ½-inch cards that feature pen and ink artwork by T.S. O’Connell, who produced a number of collector issues in the 1980’s. The Baseball Greats series was the first produced by this company, with 20 Hall of Famers pictured (Let’s not quibble about Pete Rose) pictured in a card design reminiscent of the 1959 Topps issue. The pen-and-ink drawings are showcased on color backgrounds and color renderings of the team logos; the backs of the cards are blank. The offered uncut sheet is 35-by-23 inches and is in Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt condition, with two rows of seven “cards” and a bottom row with six “cards” and a header card that provides information about the issue. The issue had a small original print run of only 2,000, with fewer than 100 uncut sheets produced. The lineup: Aaron, Bench, Berra, Brett, Campanella, Carew, Clemente, Gibson, Kaline, Mantle, Morgan, Musial, Rice, Frank Robinson, Rose, Seaver, Snider, Wagner, Yastrzemski and Yount.
