During the 1990's, insert, or chase cards became an extremely popular trend in the collecting industry for every manufacturer and across all sports. Presented here is arguably the most desirable insert of early 1990s: a 1994 Upper Deck insert with the likenesses of Mickey Mantle and Ken Griffey, Jr., as well as the black ink signatures of both stars. The Mantle/Griffey inserts were randomly distributed in packs and carried either one or both of the players' autographs in editions of just 1,000 copies each. An example like this one, featuring both signatures, represents the most valuable and desirable version of the famed insert. The card carries a UDA hologram on the back (AUA40678) and is slabbed here by PSA/DNA, with the signatures both graded Gem Mint 10.
