Presented here is one of the truly unique non-mainstream baseball card issues in the 1960s, the 1968 Detroit Free Press Bubblegum Less Tigers cards that were printed the Detroit Magazine rotogravure section in the Sunday Detroit Free Press. The popularity of the famous 1968 World Series Championship squad prompted the production of this charming issue that featured card fronts and backs printed separately with the intention of pasting them to cardboard; this grouping features a wonderful array that was clearly very carefully cut, with the standard-sized card fronts and backs in essentially Ex-Mt to Near-Mint condition and enhanced by the fact that they are not pasted. Two cards – McMahon and Brown – include the card backs only.
