Presented is an empty case from 1978 Topps Baseball, a solid condition artifact that held 24 of the legendary 500-county vending boxes that have been a hallmark of the remarkable Fritsch inventory down through the years. The box presents in Fair condition, with a couple of corner tears and largely unobtrusive damage to one side at the bottom edge; comes with a 7 ½-by-3 ½-inch Topps mailing label addressing the case to the legendary Larry Fritsch in Stevens Point, Wis. That’s the kind of provenance that collectors like, linking an important Topps artifact to arguably the most prolific collector in hobby history.
